Felix Jesse

Hi, I'm Felix.

Senior Product Manager & Head of Product

I build B2B SaaS in Energy and Sustainability Tech.

About

Senior PM and Head of Product with a technical background (M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, RWTH Aachen). Most recently as Head of Product at Vytal, I led a five-person product team and built an operations system processing up to 1 million reusable containers per weekend. I work best in complex environments where products sit close to real operations, infrastructure, or sustainability-driven business models – especially in Energy and Circular Economy. My focus: clarity in strategy, prioritization, and team ownership. Based in Cologne.

Building with AI

AI is changing what product work can be. Discovery goes deeper, prototyping faster, documentation becomes better and more consistent – which creates time for customers, users, and stakeholders. But the bigger shift: PMs can now build products and features end-to-end themselves. I do this with Claude Code – mobile apps, AI-powered workflow tools, and personal knowledge systems I use daily.

Success Stories

Launching a new product in 5 markets – in 3 months

Tap2Borrow was a net-new product: hardware, software, and GTM built simultaneously with a 3-month runway and almost no competition.

Context

Vytal wanted to reach customers who'd never download a dedicated app. Tap2Borrow – tap-to-borrow reusable containers via mobile payment – solved this and doubled as a sales argument for event venues needing high checkout speed. At launch, one small competitor existed.

My Role

Head of Product – full scope. Hardware strategy, software build, GTM, product marketing, partner onboarding, technical feasibility, user testing.

What I Built

End-to-end launch across 5 international markets in 3 months. Hardware provision for two distinct segments (cafes and festival operators), technical reliability under event load, coordination across engineering, operations, and external partners.

Impact

€50k recurring license revenue within 3 months
~€200k usage-based ARR within 3 months

Baseline numbers from the initial 3-month window, before expected growth.

Building a product & design team for ambitious growth

Vytal had big growth plans and a product function of one – I hired the team, introduced the processes, and made product a company-wide effort.

Context

When I joined: 1 PM, 1 designer. Ambitious growth plans demanded a function that could actually keep up.

My Role

Head of Product – hiring manager, process owner, responsible for turning a small function into one that could execute at scale.

What I Built

Hired 1 PM, 1 PM student, 1 designer – team of 5. Introduced discovery, prioritization, and roadmapping processes. Pulled other departments into the development cycle. Established all-hands testing before major releases.

Impact

Team grew from 2 to 5. Other departments shifted from passive recipients to active contributors. Release quality improved measurably. Product became a company-wide capability.

From static forms to 250+ live digital customer journeys

Grid operators and energy providers were handling complex customer requests with static forms. We gave them the tools to go fully digital – without writing a line of code.

Context

Grid operators and energy providers ran complex customer requests through static forms. They needed to go fully digital – configurable and no-code.

My Role

Senior PM owning Journey Builder (no-code journey creator) and Product Hub (integrated product catalog), each with a dedicated squad I led.

What I Built

Journey Builder: visual automations, conditional logic, prefill, tracking integrations, custom CSS for white-labeling. Product Hub: configurable product catalog embedded directly into journeys.

Impact

250+ live customer journeys created
10× digital lead count within 12 months
